Riccardo Nannini a.k.a. Cane (Italy, 1980) studied fashion and design in Milan.
In 2010 his practice shifts to painting. He moves to Barcelona, where he begins collaborating with artists, magazines and underground galleries, as well as making incursions into street art.
Gradually, his pictorial investigation narrows its focus on the conciliation of tradition and contemporaneity, mingling references which range from Renaissance to comics.
Nannini develops a personal language which travels freely between classical painting, folklore and pop culture.
His work reflects the contradictions of our times through situations observed in his day to day, in which an apparently innocuous detail transports us from the anecdotic to the exceptional and absurd.
His works have been exhibited in various individual and collective shows in Europe, Usa, Australia and Asia.
